Meet Dr. Gilbert
Endodontist Dr. Shawn Gilbert grew up in Midland, Texas. He earned his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997. Following dental school, he completed a one year general practice residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Gilbert completed his specialty training at the University of Texas San Antonio in 2000. He then returned home to Midland and began his practice.
Both Drs. Gilbert and Jenkins are dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of endodontic knowledge and skill possible. This is why both doctors became board certified. Becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics is a voluntary process. It requires successful completion of a three-part examination: a written examination, case history examination, and oral examination. Achieving Diplomate status requires many years of hard work and commitment. Less than twenty five percent of endodontists are board certified. Drs. Gilbert and Jenkins made becoming diplomates a goal, and achieved this goal together.
